Crypto Wallet: Core Flows and Caching

Core product flows and a tuned caching layer for a crypto wallet's launch to a waitlist of over a million users.

Brief

A crypto wallet was set to launch to a waitlist of over a million users, and needed its core product flows built and performant before that launch.

Approach

  • Frontend Flows: Built user-facing views in Kotlin (using MVVM and coroutines), including token details, cross-instrument search, home page components, and an infinite-scroll transaction history.
  • Backend Middleware: Built the supporting Python backend with granular cache expiration—short-lived caching for highly sensitive data like prices, and longer TTLs for summaries.
  • Client Caching: Layered a client-side data provider on top with multi-layered caching to cut redundant network requests.

Result

Meaningfully cut loading times for critical views and reduced server load, ahead of the wallet’s launch to its waitlist.
